A Heavy Rain WARNING Number One has been issued by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service at 7:00 am this morning, on Sunday 08th December 2019.
The Heavy Rain Alert is now upgraded to Heavy Rain Warning.
A Heavy Rain Warning is in force for ALL Provinces.
Situation: A trough lies over Solomon Islands and links to a weak low located just north of Malaita Associated heavy rain is expected to affect the Solomon Islands within the next 24 hours.
Such localized Heavy Rain may lead to flash flooding or flooding over communities living close to large rivers, streams and low lying areas.
Motorists are also advised to use extreme caution when travelling in these areas. Do not attempt to cross rivers and large streams of unknown depth.
People are therefore advised to take precautionary measures because of flooding that will pose danger to lives and properties.
Next update will be issued at 7:00 pm this evening.
