Heavy rain affects Kombito Water Supply

Solomon Water was forced to shut its Kombito Spring water source on Monday morning due to high turbidity following heavy rain.
Solomon Water Chief Executive officer, Ian Gooden said “this is necessary to ensure that we supply safe water as we cannot produce water when the turbidity level is high as it will pose health risk to our customers. We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience.”
Kombito Source supplies about 11% of Honiara with customers located East of Honiara from Panatina up to parts of Henderson.
We are constantly monitoring the situation and will turn on the supply as soon as we consider it safe to do so, hopefully later today.
Solomon Water apologises to its customers and further advises all customers still receiving water to store water in buckets and containers and boil all water for food preparation and
consumption.
