New curfew timing proposed from 5pm to 8am starting tomorrow

A new curfew timing has been proposed and once that is approved it will run from 5pm to 8am each day – starting tomorrow.

Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. Jimmy Rodgers said the proposed new curfew timing will help businesses to get to work on time and return home.

It will be submitted to the Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare for further approval before it comes into effect tomorrow.

If that is approved the new curfew timing it will come into force tomorrow, replacing the current one which was to run from 3pm today to 9am tomorrow.

Dr. Rodgers confirmed the Solomon Islands Chambers of Commerce and Industry was pushing for the extension of the business hours.

The curfew is only for Honiara Emergency Zone from Poha to Alligator.
