With only six days remaining before the highly anticipated National Joint Election takes place throughout the country, the political fever is intensifying in Gizo/Kolombangara.

Candidates are stepping up their campaigns as the election draws near, hoping to secure victory on April 17, 2024.

In the Gizo/Kolombangara Contingency, eight candidates are vying for the top post. On Wednesday, the nation will head to the polls to decide who will become the next Member of Parliament (MP).

The latest updates on the ground have gone viral on social media and can be heard in conversations along the streets of Gizo and the surrounding islands. With just six days left, voters are preparing to cast their ballots.

Meanwhile, voters from Honiara have been arriving throughout the week, more expected in the Western Province constituency to cast their votes. Additional voters are expected to arrive today (Friday).
