Manele vs Wale for PM’s post

The Government House has confirmed that it has received TWO nominations or candidates at the close of nomination today to contest the position of Prime Minister on Thursday.

Secretary to the Government House Rawcliffe Ziza confirmed that the first nomination of Jeremiah Manele was received yesterday whilst Matthew Cooper Wale, this afternoon.

Manele, the MP fo Hograno, Kia Havulei in Isabel Province is the candidate representing the newly formed the Government for National Unity and Transformation (GNUT), whilst Wale, the MP for Aoke/Langalanga is nominated by SI Party for Rural Advancement (SIPRA), United Party (UP), Solomon Islands Democratic Party & Umi4Change.

The two camps have already issued photo shoots of their members and lobbying is still ongoing heading into the election on Thursday.

Manele is the caretaker minister of foreign affairs whilst Wale had been the leader of opposition in the past house.
