HONIARA, SOLOMON ISLANDS (Aug. 28, 2022) – The hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) arrives in Honiara Harbor, Aug. 29, to take part in Pacific Partnership 2022(PP22)
Media interested in covering the ship’s arrival are asked to meet at the Bina Harbor project at Kukum (turn left into the BSP Finance parking area), at 8:45 a.m., Monday, Aug. 29.
Now in its 17th year, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific.
Pacific Partnership is a unifying mission that fosters enduring friendship and cooperation among many nations.
The Pacific Partnership mission returns to Solomon Islands, continuing to build on a foundation established during previous missions. The 2022 Honiara mission stop includes participants from the United States, Japan and Australia.
PP 22 kicks off with a free band concert for the general public, performed by the Pacific Partnership band, Aug. 30, 2022, at 5 p.m., in Unity Square.
In addition to band concerts, PP22 focus areas include:
