The much anticipated motion of no confidence against Malaita Premier Daniel Suidani has been withdrawn with formalities of the withdrawal expected to be announced later this morning.
Suidani announced to a huge waiting crowd in Auki this morning that the Opposition has called the police to inform them of their intention to withdraw the motion.
Malaitans cheered in jubilation when Suidani announced that the motion has been withdrawn.
Suidani now appeals to Malaitans to remain calm and wait for the formal announcement.
A police officer told the crowd that following dialogue that started yesterday it now ended successfully.
Crowds were building since yesterday as Malaitans poured into Auki for today’s much anticipated motion against Suidani.
