The second flight to repatriate Solomon Islands students from the Philippines (Manila-Honiara) has been confirmed for the 24th of this month.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has just announced in his weekly national wide address on COVID-19 that the flight is to repatriate 144 students from the Philippines.
He said Cabinet has been assured by the Oversight Committee that the students are in hotel quarantine and should reduce COVID-19 risks.
Solomon Islands recorded its first five cases from repatriated students who arrived from Manila in a flight on 29 September. They all have since been negative with COVID-19.
In the meantime, Sogavare has announced that there are no new cases except for the 16 that had been recorded with the first five (students form the Philippines) now negative.
