OVERNIGHT CURFEW: No ships or boats in & out of Honiara between 7pm to 6am daily

An overnight curfew has been declared by the Governor-General of Solomon Islands, His Excellency, David Vunagi to all sea travellers entering and departing the Port of Honiara effective from 7pm today (8 December 2021).

His Excellency has signed a new Declaration under the Preservation of Public Security Act. These regulations amend the Preservation of Public Security (No.2) Regulations 2021 (LN 334 of 2021), which comes into force today.

This declaration effectively means an overnight curfew for all sea travellers in Honiara commencing on 8 December 2021 from 7pm until 6am every day until revoked by the Governor-General. During the hours of 6am to 7 pm, vessels or small boats can depart and berth at Honiara wharf or within the Emergency zone.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) calls on all Solomon Islands citizens, especially those living in Honiara, to be aware and adhere to these regulations.

Police Maritime officers will be conducting regular patrols along the coast of Point Cruz Harbor and the Emergency Zone from 7pm to 6am daily until the curfew is lifted.
