The MP for East Malaita Manasseh Maelanga on Sunday signed the relevant documents confirming the withdrawal of his Motion of No Confidence against Prime Minister Matthew Wale.

He also announced that he was withdrawing the MONC.

The documents were facilitated by his officials and submitted to the National Parliament today, formally confirming the withdrawal of the motion.

In an exclusive interview with SBMOnline this afternoon, Maelanga confirmed that the motion has now been withdrawn.

The motion was initially scheduled to be debated in Parliament tomorrow, according to the provisional Order Paper.

The withdrawal comes one week after Maelanga, the former Minister of Home Affairs in the GREAT Coalition Government, filed the Motion of No Confidence against Prime Minister Wale.

The decision brings to an end, for now, the political challenge that was expected to dominate parliamentary proceedings in the coming week.
