NO ARRESTS IN HONIARA, POLICE ONLY QUESTIONED PASSENGERS & RELEASED THEM

Police had confirmed that it made no arrests this morning during the arrival of M.V Fair Glory in Honiara. But stated that it brought in persons to be questioned at Central Police Station and released them.

The social media was filled with claims that three people were arrested this morning in relation to the alleged brutal murder of a seven-yea- old girl in the Western Province.

But this is not the case. In response to a question on the claims of arrest this morning posed by SBMOnline, the RSIPF has confirmed that there was no arrest being made this morning at the Fair Glory at Pt Cruz wharf. However, it said police brought those people to Central Police station for further questioning and released them.

Besides those questioned, the RSIPF confirmed that so far only two suspects were in police custody in Gizo.

Meanwhile investigation into the matter is still continuing and police appeal to those people who may have information to assist the investigators to bring those suspects to face the full force of law.

The seven-year-old was discovered few days later, dead, in a creek at Kolombangara with both arms removed. She was returning from school when she was allegedly attacked.
