The MP for North West Guadalcanal, Hon. Bodo Detke, has been served with a notice of intended prosecution, after his vehicle veered off the road and damaged part of the middle strip fencing on the main-road—opposite the Central Market early Saturday morning.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ian Vaevaso told the media this morning that the accident happened about 5am when Detke was driving a land-cruiser westbound after his vehicle got off the road and damaged the middle strip fencing.
Vaevaso said police were on site and too the MP to Central Police Station, where he was questioned, before he was released.
Vaevaso confirmed that the MP went through breathalyzer test but it turned out negative.
A Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) has been served on the driver of the vehicle at that very time as investigation into this incident continues. A notice of intended prosecution usually takes 14 days before police can further act on the case.
