BIG WIN: SUIDANI DEFEATS MOTION BY 24-9

Malaita Premier Daniel Suidani has soundly defeated a motion of no confidence moved against him with a 24-9 votes this afternoon in Auki.

The much anticipated motion was debated this morning and into the afternoon before a secret ballot was taken when Suidani won by clear 15 votes after he polled 24 votes to the mover David Solo of Ward 14 who only collected 9 votes.

“Yes I can confirm that the Premier has won defeated the motion by 24-9,” Celsus Talifulu, the Premier’s Political Advisor, told SBMOnline from Auki.

The motion was moved by the MPA for Ward 14 Solo in Fataleka.

Straight after defeating the motion, the Suidani called for Malaitans to put the motion behind and work together to move the province together forward.

Many Malaitans have gone to the social media to congratulate their premier on defeating the motion.
