Veo is new Premier of Western Province

Western Province has today finally elected Billy Veo as its new premier in the second day of election in Gizo this morning.

Speaker of Western Province Talasasa announced that to a huge waiting crowd in Gizo which was live broadcasted on the social media (Forum Gizo).

He defeated Eddie Ngava in the race. No details of the votes were given but Veo was said to collect more than 14 votes.

Veo is from ward 25 in the WP, the third biggest province in the country.

The premier’s election was first held on Friday but it failed to produce a winner after none of the two had won by an absolute majority of the 26 MPAs.
