Six of the missing 9 swim to safety BUT 3 at Gella still missing

Six people who were missing from a boat in West Guadalcanal’s Komivo-Kombuale area have swam to safety, SIMA confirms this morning.

This means that the six of the nine people who were reported missing last night are now safe.

“I confirm that 9 people were on this boat, the 6 missing made it last night. 9 are all safe,” said Thierry Nervale, director of SIMA.

However, he said search is still continuing for missing people in Ngella. The three went missing since yesterday.

Regarding the nine people missing on Guadalcanal, three swam to shore early on when the boat sunk down with the last six now confirmed after they also swam to safety.
