SINU adopts No Jab, No Pay for staff & No Jab, No Enrolment for students

The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) has adopted a No Jab, No Pay for its staff and No Jab No Enrolment for its students.

In a memorandum issued on 1st March by the Senate and Senior Management, it details that effective on the payday of 3rd March 2022, staff who received one jab were paid half salary and those unvaccinated were not paid any salary.

The memorandum clearly spells out that the Senate and Management adopted No Jab, No Pay for staff, and no No Enrollment for students.

It further states that all SINU security officers including the private firm (working at SINU) officers’ and staff must be fully vaccinated and show vaccination cards to Human Resources of SINU.

Additionally, it says condition for the opening of SINU 2022 Academic Year is 80% of staff must be fully vaccinated and show vaccination cards to Human Resources of the university.

“Only fully vaccinated staff are to attend work,” the memo adds.

Meanwhile, the memo also says that the HR Policy of 21 days’ sick leave for staff is applicable to COVID-19 as well as other sicknesses.

It advises that all faculties are to develop their teaching and learning response plan.
