Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has said this afternoon that all schools will remain closed until a determination is made on their reopening.
Speaking during his nationwide address today, Sogvare said the Ministry of Education’s NDOC team is in discussions with Health to finalise a paper on the opening of schools in the 2022 academic year.
“The paper will present guidelines and conditions that would need to be met for schools to be reopened. Once concluded the paper and its recommendations will be presented to the Oversight Committee for further deliberation and ultimately to Cabinet for a decision,” he said.
Meanwhile Sogavare said all schools will remain closed until a determination is made on the reopening of schools.
