
Deputy Speaker and Government backbencher Francis Sade was sworn-in this afternoon as the new minister of Public Service replacing John Tuhaika Jr. who resigned last night.
Sade, the MP for North West Guadalcanal and former premier of Guadalcanal took his oath before the Governor General David Tipa Kapu.
Prime Minister moved quickly to replace Tuhaika ahead of the motion of no confidence in his government on Monday.
Deputy Prime Minister Bradley Tovosia said Sade was a backbencher and a member of the Peoples First Party.
He claims the government number remains at 30 despite the loss of Tuhaika.
Sade contested under United Party in the April elections and shifted the government folloing the election of the prime minister.
