Police officer who allegedly pocketed $300k plus questioned

Internal investigators have so far focused only on one police officer who allegedly pocketed more than $300k exhibit money kept in police custody.

Commissioner of Police Mostyn Mangau confirmed to journalists this morning that the officer suspected of removing the money had been interviewed on Tuesday by the RSIPF Professional Standards Internal Investigation and they would be analyzing the information before before taking the next cause of action.

He assures the public that investigations are progressing well.

The more than $300k was removed from the RSIPF Exhibition Room at Rove allegedly in October by the suspect. The money was seized by police in several locations during raids and belonged to the One Link— a Ponzi scheme which had been investigated by police in the past year. The case is ongoing.

The money was to be used as an evidence against One Link.

Asked if One Link had raised a formal complaint against RSIPF for the missing money, Mangau said so far not yet. He adds they have the right to do so under law.
