New Australian High Commissioner pays visit to Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade

The new Australian High Commissioner to the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Rod Hilton has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Jeremiah Manele today.

The courtesy visit was made to the MFAET head office in Honiara where both discuss issues of mutual interest.

H.E Hilton replaces Dr Lachlan Strahan, who left the Solomon Islands back to Australia over the weekend after completing his three-year tenure.

Following his visit today, Minister Manele presented a gift to the incoming High Commissioner and welcome him to Solomon Islands.

H.E Hilton has been posted recently in New Dehli, India and in Port Moresby.

The New Australian High Commissioner presented his letter of introduction to the Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare earlier today.
