Kukiti declared winner for Paripao Ward following by-election on Wednesday

Independent Candidate Ishmael Kukiti was declared the winner of yesterday’s by-election for Paripao Ward on Guadalcanal.

Albert Moli, the returning officer for Paripao Ward in announcing the winner, stated that the process was democratic, fair and a just election.

The by election was held aafter the passing of late MPA Brally Tavalia.

He thanked everyone who engaged in the election from candidates to voters, the general public and the police as well as electoral officers.

Moli announced the order of the result

OFFICIAL ORDER OF RESULT:

1. Ishmael Kukiti – 576

2. Raymond Deona Samson – 539

3. Samson Marcus – 441

4. Ray Robert Leua’pe – 249

5. Rayboy Raymond – 123

Total number of registered electors: 2741

Total number of registered electors recorded as voted: 1930

Total number of rejected votes: 22.
