It’s here now, the COVID-19 vaccines have arrived

The first shipment of 24,000 COVID-19 vaccines of AstraZeneca has arrived this afternoon in Honiara.

It’s a historic day, says minister of health Dr Culwick Togamana who was at the airport to receive the vaccines.

“Today marks a significant milestone in our country’s fight against COVID-19 with the arrival of the first 24,000 doses of COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine.”

He said the 24000 doses of AstraZeneca is the first tranche of the 108, 000 doses confirmed by COVAX Facility to cover 20% of our population.
