Husband arrested following suspicious death of wife

Auki Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 28-year-old female in Olola Village  near New Kaloka Area, in the Langalanga Lagoon.

The incident occurred on the 21st of May where the deceased sustained marks on the face and few serious injuries on the back of her head.

Police reports alleged that the deceased and her 30-year-old husband were having arguments since the mother’s Day celebrations which resulted in the death.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau has called on the people of Olola village and New Kaloka to remain calm and also help assist the police in their ongoing investigations.

Meanwhile the husband was arrested and is now remanded in custody for further investigations.
