The Capital City, Honiara and Western Province recorded most crimes over the festive season whilst Renbel, Isabel and Guadalcanal reported the lowest.
A total of 114 suspects were arrested over the period in all the provinces with most in the capital city, Honiara.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Mostyn Mangau, most of the arrests were for minor offences including drunk and disorderly as well as some cases of domestic violence.
He said in overall it was a peaceful festive season.
Managau reveals that the the crime as reported by provinces include: Isabel 5, Makira/Ulawa 7, Guadalcanal 5, Malaita 18, Renbel 2, Western 22, Central Island 16, Choseul 15 and Honiara 24.
Meanwhile the Police Media Unit says the figures given by Commissioner Mangau to the media this morning were initial figures but the actual final figure of crimes reported around the country is 114 NOT 137 as stated by the police chief.
