Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has announced that vaccination will resume on Monday with Honiara City Council clinics joining Ports Area as new vaccination centres.
With only 20% of the eligible population for vaccination had received their jabs, Sogavare has urged the public to get vaccinated as there is now a COVID-19 transmission.
“I again ask all eligible people in Solomon Islands who are yet to be vaccinated, to please get vaccinated as soon as possible starting Monday next week. You cannot delay any more. Vaccination is the only proven way to protect you from COVID-19,” he said.
Sogavare said the Ministry of Health together with the health division of the Honiara City Council will make COVID-19 vaccination available in HCC clinics in addition to the current station at SIPA area from Monday next week.
Since the announcement of community transmission in the Otong Java and Honiara two days ago, the Ports Vaccination Centre had seen massive turn out as people rushed to get their jabs.
