The House of Chiefs also resolved that it understands that there are significant issues that remain outstanding between MARA Provincial Government and the DCGA and urges both parties to use available government resources to peacefully resolve the issues.

Malaita Province has stated that they are willing to enter into dialogue with the government and other stakeholders.

In calling for the dialogue, the chiefs also called on the government to ensure that the House of Chiefs are consulted on any developments proposed by the government on land outside of the Honiara City boundary.

Also importantly, the House of Chiefs calls on all citizens in and around Honiara that irrespective of the outcome of the National Parliament on the motion of no confidence on Monday, not to take the law into their own hands and must not engage in any further lootings of businesses and homes.

Meanwhile the chiefs urge the Prime Minister to table in Parliament, the TRC Report, the Federal Constitution and deal with issues relating to the Townsville Peace Agreement.
