DMP ‘Long Way Home’ Album considered for first-round voting for Grammys

The pride of Solomon Islands music, Doorman’s Project (DMP) band is continuing to break more musical boundaries for the country with the band recently announced to their army of fans on social media that their album ‘Long Way Home’ is being considered for the first-round voting for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
The first-round voting comes after an annual Online Entry Process where top registered Media Companies and the famous Recording Academy Members submit music and works for Grammy consideration at the Grammy Awards.
The first-round voting will then determine the nominees for the world’s most prestigious music awards.
From their recent post via social media, the band posted, “Thank you so much to all the producers, engineers, musicians and artists that worked on the album with us”.
“Honor and blessings to our Ineffable Records family for having faith in us local island boys from this small island nation in the South Pacific called ‘Solomon Islands, thank you for your guidance throughout the creative process of this album and overall believing in our vision”.
The ‘Long way home’ album, their fifth album, was released on October 2022 and featured some of the biggest names in world music including Anthony B, Iyaz, Demarcodadon, R. City and many others.
The local icons have also taken the time to thank their families, friends, the fans and also dedicated their achievements to fellow member ‘Sasa’ who passed away months after the release of the ‘Long way home’ album.
Meanwhile, First-round voting for the 66th annual Grammy Awards will close on October 20 with the Nominees to be announced on November 10.
