In a statement today, HCC said its law enforcers made two arrests today and fined them on the spot.

It also confirms that a food outlet, commonly known as kaibar was fined $1,000 on the spot for the breach of the seven meters by-law. The 7 meter law ensures that shop owners are responsible for seven metres around their shops to make sure there is no litter within the zone.

The other person fined today was a passenger who paid $100 penalty on the spot for littering from a vehicle.

Following today’s fines, the HCC says its law enforcement officers would not tolerate any individuals who breaches its ordinances.
