Mangau revealed that the intruders attacked the husband in his room using a sharp instrument to poke one of his eyes.

He added whist he was screaming for help his wife ran to assist but she was also attacked by the burglars who injured her head.

The couple screamed for help from their neighbours but they were too scared to assist the couple, Mangau said.

He said as a result, the wife was able to drive here husband, though in pain, to the National Referral Hospital.

It was only at the NRH, that hospital authorities called the police who then went to the crime scene and secured the house.

Mangau confirmed that police have yet to make any arrests and he’s appealing to those in the area to report any persons they suspect could have involved in the attack.

He appeals to the public to show respect and stop such to attacks on “our people”.

The couple from Korea are also SI citizens.
