9 tonnes of rubbish collected in joint clean the streets at Henderson today

Today on World Environment Day (5 June, 2021), representatives of Solomon Airlines, Don Bosco Technical Institute, Tourism Solomons, Ministry of Communication and Aviation, and Solomon Islands Meteorological Service all came together to clean the streets around the Henderson area to raise awareness and support efforts to protect our local environment.

A total of 145 participants collected 9 tonnes of rubbish from the Henderson area, serving as an important reminder to our communities to ensure they dispose of their rubbish correctly and contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future.

World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5 June and is a United Nations initiative encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
