42-yr-old man arrested for alleged sexual intercourse with 2 daughters

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Lata Police Station have arrested a 42-year-old man for allledgely having sexual intercourse with his two biological daughters in Temotu Province.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Temotu Province Superintendent James Toaki says initial report stated that the suspect had sexual affair with his 17-year old daughter beginning of this year 2021 until he was arrested last week and now remanded at Lata Correctional Centre.

PPC Toaki adds while the suspect was remanded for the offense he committed, police were also investigating another allegation of sexual intercourse with his first-born daughter.

Investigation on both offenses are continuing and Toaki appeals to those who have information to assist police.

Police have charged the suspect with Sexual Offence Contrary to Section 140[1][a][b] of the Penal Code, Sexual Offence Act 2016[Amended].

“This action is not good in our communities as we are the ones who are supposed to take care and have respect for our children. Police will not tolerate such behaviour and will deal with such action to face the full force of law,” said Toaki
