Wale Pays Tribute to Women on International Women’s Day

The Leader of Opposition, Matthew Wale, has paid tribute to women across the country, acknowledging their vital role in shaping families, communities and the nation.

In a message to mark International Women’s Day, Wale extended his warmest greetings and appreciation to women throughout Solomon Islands.

He said women remain the backbone of families, communities, churches and the national economy.

“From our mothers and daughters to our teachers, nurses, market vendors, farmers and leaders, your strength, resilience and dedication continue to shape and sustain our nation,” Wale said.

While celebrating the achievements and contributions of women, the Opposition Leader also acknowledged that more work needs to be done to ensure equal opportunities, safety and respect for women and girls across the country.

“As Opposition Leader, I reaffirm my commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that empower women, strengthen their participation in leadership and protect their rights and wellbeing,” he said.

Wale concluded his message by thanking women across the Solomon Islands for their courage, sacrifice and leadership.

“To all the women of our beloved Solomon Islands, thank you for your courage, sacrifice and leadership. Today we celebrate you. Happy International Women’s Day.”
