Leader of CARE Matthew Wale has promised that a CARE government will make education free for all Solomon Islanders from Kindy to SINU & TVET for a generation, 25 years and Kindy to year 12 will become compulsory.
Wale who was the former Leader of Opposition said the education of a Solomon Islander is not only to his or her benefit, but to the benefit of the entire Solomon Islands.
“All of Solomon Islands must take an interest in, and therefore responsibility for, the education of each Solomon Islander. Just as we seek to stamp out leprosy and polio totally from Solomon Islands, A CARE government pledges to eradicate illiteracy from Solomon Islands. STEM will become the focus of our education system, as we prepare the workforce required for the economy of the next 40 years. Because we care,” said Wale. The ‘CARE’ coalition is a partnership between the Solomon Islands Democratic Party (SIDP) led by Matthew Wale and the Democratic Alliance Party (DAP) led by Rick Hou.
