HONIARA, Solomon Islands – Today (14th March), Ambassador Ann Marie Yastishock presented credentials to the Acting Governor General of Solomon Islands, John Patteson Oti, at the Government House. This ceremony marks the official acceptance of Ambassador Yastishock as representative of the United States to Solomon Islands.

Ambassador Yastishock arrived in Port Moresby February 5, 2024. Ambassador Yastishock previously served as Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator in the Bureau for Asia at USAID, as USAID Mission Director in Hanoi, Vietnam, and as the

Chief Advisor to the Acting Administrator and Chief Operating Officer for USAID.

Ambassador Yastishock’s appointment is a strong affirmation of the Biden Administration’s commitment to deepening our bilateral relationship with the people of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu.
