Speaking during the ceremony, Hon Tausinga said the MoU signing is the second of its kind.

The first signing was in 2021 for the four wards.

Hon Tausinga explained that last year there was no MoU signed because there was no provincial government in place.

“My vision in initiating this is to share resources to my people through the wards.  We are simply serving the same people and I see the importance of working together with WDCs instead of duplicating projects,” he said.

Provincial Government Minister Hon Seleso spoke highly of Hon Tausinga describing it as ‘historic’.

Minister Seloso said this initiative is proven to be effective and it is something that other MPs should learn from.

“I fully hail the approach taken by the MP for West New Georgia Vonavona.

He said the funds come from the SIG Support to Constituency Development and would be paid to separate WDC accounts through the Western provincial government.

“This second MoU further cements the already existing partnership and mutual collaboration between the constituency and the four wards,” he said.

Premier Veo also echoed similar sentiments and praised Hon Tausinga.

He said this is the right pathway for constituencies and other MPs should follow what the MP for West New Georgia Vonavona is doing.

“If our MP can do it then why not the others? The four wards in our constituency count ourselves lucky than other wards,” he said.

Chairman of Munda Ward WDC Mr Renson Prat said the initiative taken by Hon Tausinga is a success story that other MPs should consider.

He said what the MP has shown the way forward for constituency development and it has proven to be very effective and beneficial to people.
