Solomon Water would like to announce that the high lane of the eastbound road starting from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources to the Ranadi Roundabout will be closed for motorists due to geotechnical drilling and sewer pipe laying works that Solomon Water contractors will carry out for the Sewer Works – Fisheries to Telekom Roundabout Project.
Initial geotechnical drilling works which were near the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, and the Rax Boys, have already been completed. The final drilling works is expected to start
today near the Ranadi Roundabout.
“Solomon Water’s sewer pipes will be laid under the road before the road can be constructed, and we need to properly understand the soil conditions under the ground before the pipe laying
works begin”, says Solomon Water CEO Ian Gooden.
“We appreciate the cooperation and patience of our valued customers during this important work,” the CEO said. “We understand that this closure has caused a lot of hardship and
inconvenience for motorists and commuters in east Honiara, but we assure you that this work is essential to provide for improved sewer services in the coming years.”
Following the geotechnical drilling works, actual construction of the sewer line will commence on the section from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affairs to the Ranadi Roundabout, starting at the eastern end, and will run until the end of the year.
