The officials from Solomon Islands Justice Program (SIJP) has conducted a visit to the Rove Central Correctional Centre (RCCC) yesterday, with a focus on gaining an understanding of some of the significant challenges faced in relation to infrastructure matters.

This was made possible through an invitation by CSSI Commissioner Gabriel Manelusi for the SIJP Head of Program Ms Alice McGrath, accompanied by his Deputy Head of Program Mr Darian Clark, Program Facilitator Mr Kevin Raue and DFAT Corrections Program Manager Mr Frank Fono.

This has been the first opportunity for the Head of Program and his Deputy Head of Program to visit RCCC.

CSSI is presently like most agencies within Essential Services of the Government, very much struggling to meet Core Business responsibilities under existing reduced budgets including maintaining existing facilities and infrastructure arrangements.

CSSI is extremely grateful for the ongoing provisions of support that is provided by DFAT and supporting agencies, through existing agreements with the Solomon Island Government and supporting Ministries.

The CSSI Commissioner & his Executives and Commandant RCCC & his Management were very grateful to have received the tremendous visit and the very close interest they had shown to the organisation.

Commissioner Manelusi do acknowledged and thanked the SIJP Head of Program and DFAT Correction Program Manager for the visit.

CSSI will continue to strive to achieve its obligations despite challenges faced and will continue to improve, strengthen and implement positive changes as we progress the future of our organization together, said Manelusi.
