SI body builder wins gold in NZ national championship

Solomon Islands’ champion body builder Robert Wales Junior has snatched another title in New Zealand after winning gold in the open category of the Natural Body Building championship today.

Wales was named Mr New Zealand after winning the competition in September last year.

Tonight he won the overall title after snatching gold and two other bronze medals in physique and fitness.

Wale expressed his joy in winning another championship and acknowledges that he’s still needs to work hard to improve and prepare for the Pacific Games in 2023.

“It gives me more motivation to work harder,” said Wales who comes from Malaita.

He hopes that as part of the preparations the government would improve the gyms in Honiara as there are lots of good competitors and they can be further improved if the facilities are improved.
