Whilst the government suspends further repatriation flights this month, it will only allow one to Samoa on August 23 to pick-up “our students there.”
Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr Jimmy Rodgers announced today that it would be the only flight for this month as they continue to review past flights and improve on gaps.
There are about 23 nationals, mostly students, in Samoa.
Dr Rodgers said it would be a direct flight to Apia to pick up “our nationals” there.
He said one of the important factors of consideration for the flight to must take place is because amongst the students is a female whose expecting a baby soon.
Meanwhile Dr Rodgers told SBMonline that they are working hard to bring Solomon Islands students in the Philippines. He confirms that the flight to bring the students is planned for next month.
