Quick action by Solomon Ports workers and a Clearance officer in the Customs car-park at Point Cruz avoided a vehicle from burning and possible exposition today.
Footage shared on social media showed a parked vehicle started emitting smoke from its front bonnet and begun burning aggressively.
The smoke had covered the area with thick white plume posing danger to another parked vehicle not far from it—before it was finally put off.
An eye-witness says the vehicle could have started developing the problem on the road before it was parked in the car-park and the next thing they saw was smoke coming out of from it.
The eye-witness confirmed that nobody was injured during the fire incident adding the fire-truck arrived but the fire was already put out.
