The Prime Minister, the Hon. Manasseh Sogavare, used his Christmas address to once again call for national unity, citing the examples of Christian teaching and belief in meeting the challenges that life’s ups and downs bring about.
It is a truth that Christianity and the principles of religion provide the basis for unity and strength in the pursuit of peace and happiness of a nation.
To achieve unity each and everyone must stand by the other and put aside anything of a personal interest in the national cause.
On the concept of national unity all must forget past discrimination and come to a unified and singular platform.
As the Solomon Islands is forecast to be on the eve of developments, people must work together to attain a common objective of development, removing all the narrowness from peoples minds that might still exist and seek to ensure national integration.
Yours sincerely

Dear Frank, I enjoyed reading your short opinion pieces. Interesting to see the PM’s call for national unity under Christian principles. Wouldn’t it be nice to see the ‘unity’ called for to be reflected in decision making on national agenda’s too?
