Police vehicle’s ‘back window glass’  damaged after rocks thrown at officers

A police vehicle was badly damaged after rocks were thrown at it– damaging the back window glass in a suburb in Honiara during the festive season operations.

Police confirmed the vehicle used by the National Traffic Department was stoned at Mbokonvera 2 whilst on operation on December 30 2023.

No arrests have been made but police are urging the public to respect their vehicles and their work amongst the communities.

The vehicle was one of those donated by one of RSIPF’s partners.

The damage will cost taxpayers a substantial amount of money to repair — in order to put the vehicle back on the road again.
