An arrest warrant remains in place for a male person who claimed to be hooked and attacked by unknown men using a RAV4 at the Kolaridge area and the cameraman who took the clip at the height of the allegation of the abduction period last month.
The video went viral causing anger, alarm and panic during a time when there were claims of adduction and kidnapping were sweeping over Honiara.
Commissioner of Police Mostyn Mangau told journalists today that police are still hunting for the two.
“What we want is the community at Talise to identify the person. We want both the cameraman and the person who appeared in the clip,” said Mangau.
“What we want is to get information that leads towards the boy (male who appeared on clip claiming he was attacked),” said Mangau.
The two are likely to be charged with spreading of false information to the public.
Mangau said his police officers will continue to hunt for the two until they are arrested.
He warns that those who spread false information to the public will have to be answerable for their actions.
He also confirmed that a young woman was also arrested and charged for lying that she was kidnapped.
