The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force officers have already met with the Office of the Auditor General and once the latter submits referrals then investigation will get underway into the ESP.
Commissioner of Police Mostyn Mangau confirmed today that his investigators had already met with OAG and as soon as they receive referrals, they would start investigations into the findings of the audit into the Economic Stimulus Package.
Since the release of the Audit Report of the ESP, which found widespread abuse of the process and allocations of the $309m ESP, the public had been demanding that those who were named in the report be investigated by police and other relevant government agencies.
Mangau when asked today by one of the journalists confirmed that his officers had already met with OAG and are now waiting on them to make the referrals then they will start the investigations.
The report will go before parliament on Friday next week as a private member’s motion. MPs are expected to debate the report and also go page by page on its content.
