PM’S GREETINGS TO ISABEL PROVINCE

On behalf of the Democratic Coalition Government for Advancement (DCGA) and the People of Solomon Islands, I bring warm greetings and special well wishes to the Premier, Speaker and Members of the Provincial Executive and Assembly, Tribal and Community Leaders, Religious Leaders and the people of ISABEL Province on the occasion of your 39^th Second Appointed Day on JUNE 2nd, 2022.

I commend the people of Isabel Province for electing the country’s first female Premier.

ISABEL Province is geo-strategically and economically significant in terms of national security and trade.

 

The Province continues to grow steadily from its many achievements and national contributions since handed its devolution powers 39 years ago.

Your contributions in the overall development of the country is evident in human resource, agriculture, fisheries, logging, tourism among others.

ISABEL PROVINCE is an effective agent of National unity. Your contribution to Peace, love and Unity is evident, acknowledged and deeply appreciated.

For this, I salute you.

My people of ISABEL, the effect of COVID 19 community transmission on our health and economy is substantial.

It is my fervent prayer that the national economy continues to improve as all domestic restrictions have now been lifted and the international border reopening from 1^st July.

With God on our side, the National Government will continue to support you as we all strive to combat COVID 19 community transmission and sustain the livelihood of our citizens.

As resilient people, Solomon Islands will emerge stronger together post pandemic.

Celebrating 39 years as a province symbolizes growth, maturity and passion for advancement.

I now take this opportunity to encourage leaders and the people of ISABEL to hold-fast to the spirit of NATIONAL UNITY. The future of the people of ISABEL depends on your sound judgement and vision in leading your province forward into the future.

In this connection, I remind all people of ISABEL of our national motto “To Lead is to Serve”. May we all lead and serve our people of ISABEL with God’s guidance and wisdom.

Happy celebrations and I wish you all the best and every success in 2022 and beyond.
