Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station have arrested and charged a 39-year-old male suspect for consuming liquor in the public place.
Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau said it is alleged that the suspect was holding a can of beer in his hand and drunk it at the car park at the Central Police Station on the 19 September 2021 at about 12 mid-night.
Mangau says police approached the suspect and told him that he was consuming alcohol in a public place, he was arrested and later charged.
The suspect was charged with consumption of liquor in certain public place in contrary to Section 65 of the Liquor Act.
He was later released on bail to appear before the Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on the 27th September 2021 for his plea.
