Makira Premier pays courtesy call on City Mayor

The Premier of Makira-Ulawa Province (MUP) Hon. Julian Maka’a has paid a courtesy call on the Honiara City Mayor Wilson Mamae on Wednesday 29.

He was accompanied by his Deputy Hon. Joe Takeli and Policy Consultant Stevenson Piringisau.

While conveying gratitude to the Mayor Mamae, on behalf of his Executive and people of MUP, Mr. Maka’a said as host to different ethnicity within the City, he is pleased to see additional innovative changes and reforms been witnessed in Honiara City and is welcoming, and assured the Mayor of his Executive’s support.

Honiara City Council Communication statement said part of the visit was to share and exchange ideas and experiences on how best both Local Governments can work closely together to better serve its people.

Deputy Premier Hon. Takeli shared the same sentiment and said as host within the City, there is a huge responsibility and said he is confident in the Mayor’s leadership within the diverse society in Honiara.

In response Mayor Wilson Mamae thanked Premier Maka’a for the visit and shared HCC Policy and reforms to the Premier.

Mamae said HCC is ready to assist Makira Ulawa Province in waste management and other important sectors.

He added that this can be achieved by short term staff attachments here in Honiara to support Makira Ulawa new Executive’s Policy in the Province.

Maemae further assured Premier Maka’a that HCC is looking forward to working closely with his Government and people.
