The Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting will be held in Honiara in 2025 and the government plans to build a new conference centre to host the meeting and other major regional and international gatherings in the future.
Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. Jimmy Rodgers said the Forum will be an opportunity for Solomon Islands to build such infrastructure.
He said as the third biggest regional country, compare to others, Solomon Islands does not have a major its own major conference centre.
He told SBMOnline that two major partners are willing to help Solomon Islands build the centre.
The 2025 PIF Leaders’ Meeting will be the second one for the country after it hosted its first in 1992.
