This initiative has commenced in Honiara and will later roll out to the provinces.

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare said the ministry now have a new Price Control Order, which these youths and price control will enforce.

Prime Minister Sogavare highlighted this during his nation-wide address on Monday this week.

He said employment of these youths is part of the Government’s strategy to empower our youths during these challenging times.

The Prime Minister has also reminded the public to look out for any shops that have overpriced goods.

“I also call on the public to report any prices of goods that may seem expensive to the price control unit as well,” he said.
