Girl allegedly raped before she was murdered

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers in Lata, Temotu Province are investigating the brutal death of a 14 year old female.

The incident occurred on the 12th of September 2022 at Manuwa, Reef Islands.

Speaking during his weekly press conference, Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau revealed that according to allegations, the teenage girl was raped before being murdered.

Mangau added that medical reports have confirmed the victim sustained a few fractures including one on the skull and a few bruises.

With the motive of the brutal murder still not clear, the current investigations have had some evidences collected that will help bring justice to those responsible for the killing.

“The investigations will be finalized based on the evidences that were provided before the suspects will be arrested when the medical reports will be available”, said the Police Commissioner.

Commissioner Mangau expressed his condolence to the victim’s family and also appealed to the people of the reef Islands who might have any information of the incident to come forward and assist the police in their investigations.
